Potential Hampering Ideas

A branch off of an earlier post "Potential Hampering Activities", Potential hampering ideas can be even more influential in keeping one from achieving what they are naturally capable of doing. For someone to reach their full potential they often must go beyond the limitations their mind creates. "I'm too tired" "Ill never be able to get where I want", "I'm not smart enough", these are just a few small examples of the limitations that minds create and people fall victim to.The worst thing about these ideas however is that you believe them. These ideas limit peoples success by telling them they are not capable of doing something that they really are.
Where I am going with this post is that if you think you have an idea that will help you achieve what you are after, run with it. Do not be afraid of failure. Do not stop when people tell you it is a stupid idea, because if it is truly a good idea, you will here that it is stupid many times. And finally, believe in yourself, because if you do not believe in yourself, why would anyone else want to believe in you?

Think about the person who first came up with the idea of the railroad. That guy must have been told his idea was stupid a million times.

Thomas Edison tried over 2000 times before finally creating a working light-bulb.

What is Success?

I realized while writing a new blog and using the word success, that I have yet to post my definition of success. I feel this is a crucial part of my blog seems how it is what all my posts are about achieving. So here we go..
Success - (as defined by Austin Fleming) - success is achieving the life you've dreamed about. Being able to live your life the way you want, with no limitations. Being financially stable. Not having to listen to anybody unless you deem them worthy of your attention. Working to benefit yourself, as opposed to someone else or someone elses company. Being able to do what you love, daily.
I could go on and on covering what I believe success is, but now that I've hit the main points I think its time to switch gears into how to achieve success. Now I am only 21 years old and have yet to achieve my own definition of success. Having said that, I have goals, I have an idea of what I want my future to be, and I have belief. These three things are the most useful tools a person can have and I believe are the first steps to gaining what you want out of life, or achieving success. Follow my blog as I explain how I believe anyone can attain their dreams

Eliminating potential hampering activities

Potential - The inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or coming into being (as defined by http://www.thefreedictionary.com)

All people have potential, however many people do not feel like they are achieving as much as they are capable of. They are not reaching thier true potential. One of the easiest ways to reach youre potential is to examine the activities in youre daily life. Now obviously to achieve what you want you have to be active, you have to work towards your goals. In examining your daily activities, look for the ones that slow you down, keep you from reaching your goals, or keep you from feeling motivated; These are potential hampering activities. Replace them with something that will help you get where you want to be in the future. Some things I recommend are reading, meditating, listening to successful people etc. By eliminating these potential hampering activities and replacing them with activities that get you closer to your goals, you are setting yourself up for success. Why do anything that slows down your ability to reach a goal?

Do you ever feel like something you are learning is a waste of time? Do you feel like if you were using your own creativity you could create a way to live your life the way you seem suitable? Many other people feel the same way and most of these feelings can be traced to the fact that the worlds education systems are created around making people ready for work, in other words making people into tools used to better some other persons life. For more insight on this subject watch this video of Sir Ken Robinson at Ted conference in 2006.
